Our Gertrude Shirt pays homage to the English writer and archeologist Gertrude Bell (Durham 1868 - Baghdad 1926), who travelled extensively in the Middle East.
Inspired by early 20th century outdoor womenswear, the oversize shirt comes with strings on the sleeves that can either be easily wrapped-up or left loose. It has horn buttons for closure and strings on the sides. Pair it with our ikat Freya Maxi Scarf or with our Annemarie trousers for a comfortable yet chic everyday look.
The fabric is sourced directly from dead-stock fabric from factories in Northern Italy. The shirt is designed and made at a family-size workshop. The entire process, from sourcing to ironing takes place in an area of 10 sq km in the Veneto region, in Italy.
